A three-vehicle accident occurred today shortly after 3 p.m. on Route 950 (Reynoldsville/Falls Creek Road).

State Police are investigating and will file an official report later, but witnesses at the scene told reynlownews.com that two vehicles, a pick up truck and a van, were traveling toward Reynoldsville when the truck slowed to turn. The van struck the pick up truck in the rear and then veered into the oncoming lane. A tractor trailer heading toward Falls Creek tried to avoid the collision and ran off the road onto the Myers property. At some point, the tractor trailer caught fire.

Reports indicate that the drivers of the tractor trailer and the pick up truck were not injured. The driver of the van was transported to Penn Highlands-DuBois for treatment.

Falls Creek and Reynoldsville Volunteer Firefighters were called to the scene. They extinguished the fire, but the cab is a total loss.

A fuel leak into a small stream that flows into the Sandy Lick Creek was contained by firefighters.

Route 950 was closed but has now reopened.
